Toshiba have announced their first netbook - an absolutely groundbreaking development in the netbook field. Its groundbreaking not in its specification, which is the same old fare, but in the expected price - £260.

The Toshiba NB100 (the NB craftily stands for netbook) is another 8.9″ Intel Atom 1.6ghz laptop with 1gb ram and 120gb mechanical hard drive.

It comes pre-installed with Ubuntu linux and is available in Cosmic Black, Champagne Gold and Bright Silver designs.

It will feature a 0.3mp webcam and the usual wireless guff. Battery life is claimed at just under 4 hours. Nay bad.

We think it looks a bit more manly than some of the other netbooks available. Rugged. Hmm.
